 Photos inspire us personally and
serve to remind us of those we know, love and
are connected to. Since 1969 Yogi Bhajan’s
images have encouraged students and seekers
alike on covers and within copies of many
publications and books, as well as on postcards,
newsletters of the organizations that he founded
and digitally on their websites.
Kundalini Research Institute is the custodian of
the 80,000 image collection of photographs
documenting Yogi Bhajan’s life. Photographers
from around the globe have donated their
photographic collections to KRI and Yogi
Bhajan’s legacy.
KRI’s goal is to archive, digitize, and organize
the images of Yogi Bhajan in order to create the
Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings Photo Archive.
This archive will showcase the most historical
and exemplary moments of Yogi Bhajan's life and
work so that they can be viewed, searched,
downloaded and licensed by his students and
teachers, and all those who revere him.
For the first time, we are offering photos free
of charge here from any of the images in the
section “Teaching PR” in the form of a digital
download, which you can use for your website,
pamphlets and brochures, yoga studio, or other
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ©
teaching materials.
We are also making the images in the “Personal”
collection available to purchase here in any
size you want and at the highest print quality
available. These are recommended as images for
your altar, home, and sacred spaces. The
artistic value of having a beautiful composition
to add to the decor of any room, enhances the
beauty of the room it decorates, and gives the
spiritual nourishment to the soul viewing it.
All proceeds from any purchase will go directly
to support The Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings
Photo Archive.
As we start to look at the collection, we know
that each image is precious reminder of who Yogi
Bhajan was, the vastness of his life with us,
and the inspiration that he still is. It is not
easy to choose which photos to make available
for this first effort and we hope that these
images will become the beginning of your own
collection.
Time for this work is of the essence. The fact
is that we’re running out of time. Some of these
negatives and slides are 39 years old—well
beyond their expected life span. We must act
quickly to insure the visual legacy for
ourselves and future generations to have the
visual experience of the life and work of Yogi
Bhajan.
